The Blood of Youth 少年歌行 Episode 5 Recap
The Blood of Youth 少年歌行 Episode 5 Recap
The icy wind is whipping around like a dragon, entangling Wuxin and making escape difficult. Wang Rensun swiped a knife at Jinxian, but it's a shame that times have changed, Jinxian has advanced in his cultivation, and no one pays him any attention. When Jinxian turned around and spotted Xiao Se, he pretended to be profound by leaving Wuxin two lines of poetry and reminding him that he couldn't run away from his fate.
Soon after Jinxian had been driven away in a sedan chair, Wuxin approached Wang Rensun and brought back a memory from twelve years prior. Wang Rensun feels morally guilty for Ye Ding's death and offers the saber as a symbol of his willingness to die for the sin. Wuxin only gently touched the knife's handle and refrained from using it. She remembered her master's lessons about how all circumstances and causes had ended, so she stopped pursuing Wang Rensun's treachery and instead had him perform a ritual rite for Wangyou.
Although Wang Rensun is not a monk and must delegate responsibility for the precise details to the Venerable Falan, he has nonetheless agreed to preside over the event personally and to have 300 monks recite sutras. As Venerable Falan had promised, Wuxin left King Sun Mo with a warning that he should not make the same mistakes again. By the end of the third day, the ceremony will be complete, and all past hurts will be forgotten. Then, without warning, Wuxin persuaded Xiao Se and Lei Wujie to bring money to follow him, and Xiao Se cursed helplessly.
While Xiao Se and Lei Wujie slept soundly in the destroyed temple outside the mountain, Wuxin prepared a special meal for them. Out of nowhere, they recalled Master Wangyou and began detailing his incredible life. You can either be born with a delicate heart that isn't easily shaken by the world, as Wangyou once put it, or you can cultivate that heart to the point where it doesn't get attracted to devils.
Wuxin also noticed these traits in Xiao Se and Lei Wujie, and it was his inspiration for carrying on the training regimen. Lei Wujie gave him a knowing grin as he spoke, and his words brimmed with expertise, piquing his curiosity. Wuxin taught Lei Wujie a set of boxing skills; the name isn't very trustworthy, but luckily the maneuvers are stealthy and deft. Not long after, Wuxin reappeared by Xiao Se's side, her eyes growing more and more enticing, and she declared, "I want to teach you the inner devil," in no uncertain terms.
On top of Cangshan Mountain, the gazebo serves as a demarcation point, Li Hanyi stands alone beneath its overhang, while Baili Dongjun arranges a set of black and white chess pieces on a table before sitting down to read and discuss the latest global headlines. It's only natural for the Young Sect Master of the Devil's Sect to feel a little envious of the Tianqi Dynasty Hall and other sects, given that he's responsible for the safety of the Central Plains and has mastered every martial art taught in the Rakshasa Hall.
Even though Li Hanyi thought he should step in to calm things down for Tang Lian, Baili Dongjun relayed the chief seat's command word for word. The first seat actually refers to a fairly straightforward concept. Twelve years ago, when the Demon Cult sent an expedition east, Xueyue City was not terrified, and twelve years later, when the young master came back to the mountain, the city was not afraid of him either. Children and teenagers need more places to play sports just like adults do. Advice is impossible to provide, even if you have a lifetime to observe events from the sidelines.
Tang Lian led Sikong Qianluo and the others to Jiulongmen, where they were given an honest assessment of the situation by Zen Master Dajue and given advice on how to proceed. Even though it was just four characters long, Baili Dongjun's message to Tang Lian made her feel uneasy: "Move from the heart." Since she was a little child, Tang Lian has lived under the severe regulations of the Tang Sect. Simply carrying out her duties was all that was required of her. Following one's "heart," "inclinations," and "destiny" was a concept she just couldn't wrap her head around.
Without a killing order, Tang Lian learned that he was not a villain and that offenses committed inadvertently would not end in death in Xueyue City. The next day, Tian Nurui returned to Sangu City, as she had promised, and Tang Lian was reassured by her words that he need not worry.
It was getting close to dusk three days later when everyone met at Dafanyin Temple. Wuxin appeared solemn as he placed the relics on the Buddhist altar, palms clasped, eyes closed, and the chanting resounded through the hall. With the sound of sacred texts being chanted, a golden glow emanated from the relic, creating the appearance that the ghostly form of Master Wangyou had materialized there.
Wuxin saw this and collapsed to the ground, sobbing. Wangyou encouraged him to go back to his homeland and forget about good and evil. But right now, Wuxin is like an obstinate kid who thinks Hanshan Temple is her permanent address and who has no idea where she'll end up if she ever departs. Even if many outside think that he is the spark that will subvert the world, as long as he maintains his mind free from distracting ideas, there is no need to be terrified of it, Wangyou moaned helplessly, telling him to press forward, not to look back.
