The Blood of Youth 少年歌行 Episode 1 Recap
Tianwu During turbulent times, Emperor Xiao Yi took matters into his own hands, created the country, and eventually retreated to the north. People from all over the world came to worship, and the country was very powerful up until the reign of Emperor Mingde. Xiao Chuhe, the emperor's son and the sixth in line was born to Mingde.
He was the brightest star in the sky, and he should be the next heir to the throne. It's been four years since the treason trial and execution of King Langya, the younger brother of Emperor Mingde. Because of Xiao Chuhe's defense of him in court, Longyan was insulted, and Xiao Chuhe was banished to Qingzhou as a commoner and treated as a criminal.
Now since the crown prince's status is uncertain and the legitimacy of the other princes in the court is continually being challenged, the court situation is tumultuous and the world is anxious. The whereabouts and identities of exiled Xiao Chuhe, who had renamed himself Xiao Se, remained unclear. The truth was that he never left the isolated frontier stronghold where he resided.
However, the business has been slow at Xueluo Mountain Villa as of late, and wages have been tight. The men agree that the inn is in bad shape and needs to be renovated. Xiao Se flatly refused, citing a lack of repair funds as his reason for staying within and gazing out the window at the snowy landscape while he sighed deeply.
At the very moment when Xiao Se had decided to sell the inn, a young man in red and fabulous attire was ushered in, lighting up Luoxue Villa like the sun and radiating the warmth of wealth from every pore. Xiao Se quickly stood up to greet him, but the young man paid him no mind as he walked right past him and sat down at the table, where he proceeded to order the cheapest wine and the simplest bowl of noodles with great flourish, prompting Xiao Se, who was already in a foul mood, to feel sorry for him. Everything about his first impression could have been better.
A large group of people dressed as bandits suddenly emerged in Luoxue Villa after the speech was finished. The young man in red may be cheap, but at least he doesn't expect free food; in contrast, these thugs are cruel and out for blood. A young man in red identified himself as Lei Wujie from Leijiabao before Xiao Se could take any action, and Lei Wujie's family was reported.
The bandits didn't notice the small child because he was just wading into the water, but he easily defeated them. The fireball erupted, knives flew, and the robbers hid their faces in their arms and fled. A dozen large and small tables were blasted, and the inn was a disaster. Although Xiao Se's demand for recompense was unavailing, the news that Lei Wujie was traveling to Xueyue City convinced him that he, too, should make the journey.
Wangyou, the abbot of Hanshui Temple, died in the fall of the 20th Mingde. Tang Lian, a disciple from Xueyue City, was tasked with transporting the precious metal casket to Biluo. Experts from all areas of life kept stopping him along the road, but he always managed to outsmart them. In the dead of winter, Tang Lian traveled to a crumbling temple where he met a white-haired man wielding a jade sword capable of some basic kung fu moves.
As Xiao Se and Lei Wujie entered through the door, Tang Lian quickly put out the fire and retreated to a hidden location to watch them. Lei Wujie, who was still talking nonstop after lighting a fire to warm himself, didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until he smelled the roses. From outside, a guy and a woman entered. The man was imposing in stature, gripping a knife calmly, and showing no visible emotion.
Those who receive the dead copybooks will meet their end as souls under the knife, while the so-called Yue Ji laughs and sends mail. Lacking any sense of apprehension, Lei Wujie instead felt a mild sense of excitement and even joy. Never before had Tang Lian encountered such a naivete. She finally broke down and sought help. She seemingly came out of nowhere and landed in between him and Yueji.
Too bad Tang Lian's previous wounds haven't healed, for her force is only slightly less than Minghou's, and Yue Ji even exposed her sheathed sword and helped the imitators along by working with them to move forward using the imitation technique. Recognizing the hopelessness of the situation, Lei Wujie immediately transformed into red hair and employed Leijiabao's flaming technique. Yueji and Minghou fled abruptly, acting as if they had gotten an instruction, just as he was about to demonstrate his power.
Xiao Se casually observed the action from the window until it ended, all the while taunting Lei Wujie for being a young and foolish fool and for attempting to antagonize him when he knew he was no match for Minghou. Sikong Qianluo was discovered by Tang Lian after he sneaked out. As a result of Tang Lian's desire to deliver the letter to the three masters, Sikong Qianluo became dissatisfied, mounted his horse, and rode away.
The following day, the red-clad youth could be seen stumbling along with his mount as he battled the elements. Sitting in the carriage, Xiao Se and Tang Lian chose to disregard his foolish statements and have a serious conversation with the user's golden casket. Xiao Se believes it is highly likely that the corpse of Master Wangyou is inside the golden coffin, despite widespread speculation that it holds untold riches or enough cheats to rule the martial arts world.
Tang Lian didn't provide a firm answer, and the carriage soon arrived in Sangu City. In order to reach Biluo City, one must first travel to Sangu City. Its proximity to the border and the freedom to trade there has led to its rapid growth from a sleepy outpost to a bustling metropolis. If you look around Sangu City, you will notice that the busiest area is Beauty Village. This is where all the city's most beautiful women congregate, and where the city's highest-ranking clients go to spend their gold.
Tiannvrui, the store's owner, has a wonderful appearance. In every case, the red silk materializes first, well before anyone else. The sky is awash in petals, adding both beauty and solemnity. Here, Tiannurui acts as a bridge between Xueyuecheng and Tang Lian, and she is also Tang Lian's trusted confidante. The onlookers saw Tiannvrui go out of her way to hug and comfort Tang Lian, whisper sweet nothings, flirt with, and chastise him, but they had no idea that she was actually conveying crucial information to Tang Lian.
Xiao Se stood by apathetically as Tiannvrui released Tang Lian, came back to inquire whether he was willing to wager and then traded Xueluo Villa for ten baskets of pearls. Tiannvrui arranges for the area to be cleared after the gold-robed merchant causes trouble with his boastful speech and nearly meets his death at the blade of Tiannvrui. There was a sudden silence as everyone took notice of this, and Tian Nurui took use of the situation to warn her, declaring that the dismal game is more than "simply ten baskets of pearls" and is, in fact, a matter of life and death.
